In the World Health Organization (WHO), delegates are furiously debating about renewable energy and the costs of such, which they think will be beneficial towards people’s health. WHO is a body that aims to debate about the health of nations, not about renewable energy. Instead of talking about actual health effects from climate change, the delegates of WHO decide to debate about the specifics about renewable energy instead, a topic that should not be debated about in WHO at all.
In a confident manner, Nigeria addressed the committee and issue of renewable energy by saying “Not all countries are geographically suitable to implement renewable energy. We need to talk about short term solutions instead of talking about renewable energy.”
In an interview with Ghana, Ghana told the AFP that the committee’s debate is at a halt and that the debate is going in circles. “Delegates have points, but they aren’t expanding on their points. All they’re saying is long-term and short-term solutions.” The delegate of Ghana further criticized the committee by explaining that many extremely “unthoughtful” solutions have been brought up such as banning the world’s population of eating meat as it produces “harmful effects on the world.”
This halt in the committee’s debate is mainly due to the copious unthoughtful solutions and points the delegates have brought up, the debate which is going in circles, and the delegates not being precise enough with their points. This committee is currently a mess with not many delegates actually contributing to the debate.
