With any discussion regarding military prohibition or action, there must be a clear set of definitions. For space militarization, this distinction seems to come from specificity. If space militarization is allowed, to what degree should it be allowed? For the delegate of the UAE, this question is simple: what should or should not be allowed is up to Allah?
”We must keep space tranquil under the logic and the light vested upon us by Sharia law and by proxy by allah himself, we must keep space a tranquil space. No longer shall weapons deface the face of outer space. No longer will the scars of artificial brutality mar this world. No longer should we have to live in fear of an extraterrestrial threat, for we will abolish space weaponization!” proclaimed the delegate of UAE.
“Non-lethal militarization is fine, yes,” declared the delegate of UAE, “However, there should be a clear and concise distinction between space militarization and space weaponization.” When asked why the UAE draws the line at space weaponization, he replied, “The Muslim Brotherhood sees the situation through the eyes of Allah: weaponization of space is able to create mass destruction on a scale much larger than conventional nuclear weapons.” And we see this is true. Nations such as North Korea, known for it’s heavy interest in its nuclear program, may in fact have and may be willing to launch nuclear weapons. However, due to a lack of long range missile technology and coordination, they are unable. With the weaponization of space however, none of the issues surrounding North Korea’s military program would be an issue.
