There is quite a bit of speculation by other news agencies which state that the House of Commons (HOC) is in a manner of craziness and frenziness. The AFP wanted to dig deeper and to truly understand why such a glorious committee would be called such a horrible name.
At first glance, the HOC seems like an extremely great committee with delegates mostly, if not all on topic. The topic that these delegates are discussing is the Trans-Pacific Partnership. In fact, according to the Minister of National Revenue, the debate has been going on very well and he clearly knew the debate front to back. This shows that most delegates of this committee definitely know what they are doing and have a very solid stance in what they want to do.
According to the Leader of the Green Party “The HOC has been a very special experience.” After the AFP asked what the Green Party’s stance was they answered with a multifaceted solution. They explained to the AFP that the Green Party wanted to protect the national economic interests of Canada while protecting farmers of Canada, especially of those working in rural Canada. He further went on to explain that the Green Party wanted to decrease imports coming into Canada to cut down on emissions. Finally he stated that the Green Party had no intention to give into corporate demands, especially if it affected Canada’s environment in the process.
The debate in the HOC seems to be of a high quality; however, after doing further research, it isn’t the delegates that are at fault. The delegates are doing a good job in contributing to the success of the committee. In fact, basically all of HOC is perfect. The AFP has no answers as to why the HOC has been bashed so many times.
