Vancouver – The UN Security Council has been alerted to the existence of a secret military base in Northern Canada. The military base, which is close to Alaska, contains both American and Canadian soldiers. Canada has been allowing the USA to perform military operations at the Arctic base, with both nations.
A representative from the USA, known only as Tyler, claimed to be the joint chief of staff of US defense. He defended the USA’s actions, saying that the USA is completely within its rights to keep a base in Canada in order to maintain military secrets. Tyler stated that as Canada does not tolerate weapons of mass destruction within its grounds, there are none in the base.
The base was later discovered to contain armaments, despite not having any weapons of mass destruction. This was taken as proof that the base in Yukon was being fortified. Danish and Norwegian troops, too, were discovered at this base. Furthermore, three more bases were discovered, in Alaska, Greenland, and Norway.
Canada, the USA, Denmark, and Norway, all countries from which troops were from, are cooperating in order to gain Arctic land for themselves. This alliance was formed in the light of Russia having much Arctic territory.
In retaliation, Russia has announced their intention of mobilising troops close to borders, with the intention of setting up their own bases there. International tensions are heating up, with conflicts over Arctic land becoming more militant and aggressive in nature.
The current situation has raised doubts about the reliability of the UNSC and the transparency values of involved countries. The UNSC acted independently, sending their own reconnaissance team to investigate the situation without the consent of member nations.
