There was heated debate in the UK House of Commons, as MPs were trying to pass pieces of legislation. The UKHOC is currently at risk of foreign car companies threatening to pull out of the UK. This would be a catastrophic blow to the economy and the people of the UK. With the first clause being the focus, it seemed clear that the majority of the parliament wanted control of what the EU forcefully took away from them. As best summed of by Member of Ashford "it makes no sense for the EU to have legit control of fundamental laws." The original legislation was worded as: "The UK will bring back control of laws such as immigration and free trade." For clarity sake, it was quickly amended to "The UK will bring back control of our laws to parliament. With subsection, A being laws such as immigration and free trade market will be under the rule of Parliament. There was strong opposition to this piece of legislation. With Steward Hosy declaring "The Scottish people voted to stay in the EU! The current government has no appreciation for the Scottish people!” This statement sent ripples throughout the committee. In the end, “yea”ey outweighed weighed out the “nay” being led by such inspiring speeches by the Commonwealth of foreign affairs who stated: "The British people voted for Brexit and we should take the laws back!" They moved forward into battle as they progressed on the next piece of legislation with the UK abide by its legislation during negotiations. A controversial amendment followed which allowed for Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales to use their legislation in negotiations. This brought uproar upon the UKHOC. With the Scottish minister of foreign affairs stating: "This legislation is useless! Scotland should leave the UK before BREXIT IS OVER!" Whether this will cause any action we cannot say, but one thing is certain, the wish for Scottish Independence is greater than ever before.
