There were three blocs in committee, led by three countries. France, China, and India respectively, all who were trying to cooperate to pass a resolution paper. It is to be acknowledged that the British delegation has not acted much during the discussion . In the short time that I've been sitting here, they haven’t spoken nor been mentioned once. In a committee with such relevant topics, why hasn't the UK acted? The United Kingdom finally spoke later in committee, and they spoke well. They discussed nuclear power and how it could be used energy generation. Here is an interview, shortly after their speech:
BBC: "What have you come up with?"
United Kingdom: "We came up with the idea of the PAGE partnership, and the central part of it is that it's facilitated growth and development and transitions countries to a greener economy without any risk."
BBC: "What is the cap and trade program?"
United Kingdom: "It's system where a company is only given cap to produce a given amount of energy; however, they can purchase caps from other companies it doesn't seem like it, but it balances it out saves the earth."
BBC: "What is your stance on nuclear energy?"
United Kingdom: "We've been discussing nuclear power; we believe it's not very viable, and individual countries think that's a short-term solution; however, we cannot force States to apply nuclear power, and it's not very diplomatic. The problem is the delegation of France is very passionate about it, so we have to incorporate somehow.”
BBC: "Who is in your bloc?"
United Kingdom: "Currently where working with the small blob over there which features China and other nations."
